Our
interest for the coherence and the connection between the surface and the depth
of a block in Akihabara led us to our project IN_BETWEEN. Questioning this connection
leads directly to the dualism of appearance and reality. In Japan this unequal
pair doesn´t necessarily describe an antagonism that can be divided into
good and bad. At first, we had the impression that the block`s
surface with its flood of advertising, installations and stimuli rushes by the
city dweller, hides the depth of the block and becomes a kind of a mask.
