topic
As (a western?) answer to the intensity of consumption in areas like akihabara, and the general lack of open urban space in the city, this project develops a pluralistic approache to the design of recreational areas. The comparison of western and japanese strategies of relaxation leads to a series of different spatial scenarios. Finally a proposal for a park on the roof of the Sobu line track is developed, which is quickly accessible from the road level and the railway station, but may also be attractive as a transitional urban space.
