urban filter
Similarly to the thesholds found along the Streets of Akihabara, we want to introduce a Filter between Akihabara's main street - Chuo Dori - and the new development at Akihabara Station - “Akihabara Crossfields”. The filter will have to cater to the two very different types of users: Chuo Dori's electronic-store-shoppers and “otaku” population, as well as A.Crossfields' “IT people”, business people and students of the University of Tokio.

don´t interact, but play
With a building full of computer game stations and various bars and lounges both groups are supposed to follow their habits and interests in close proximity to each other. The goal is not to force them to interact, but to lead them around and through each other, to have to be able to take a look at each other. But who is the observer and who the observed is never clear.
