The recording of the buildings is an important exercise, not only for the analysis of spatial and sociological factors in this highly complex district, but also in order to precisely investigate the organisation and articulation of public and private life in the area, as well as collecting all   the necessary information for the further design phase in Berlin, Germany, (especially for a large model of central akihabara at 1:200 scale).
Beside the morphologic recording of buildings, the following topics were the centre of attention in this analysis: mapping building use, analysis of the connection between urban figure, facade systems and building use, understanding of the vertical building organisation, as well as the analysis of transitions between buildings and street spaces.
