After an initial investigation of akihabara in the form of a walking tour and lectures, 8 groups of 3 students got a theme of study as well as a specific part of the district to survey.
The simultaneity of these two exercises created the possibility for the simultaneous consideration of different scales, situations and uses of space. Among the themes of analysis were the study of circulation, the programmatic specificity of akihabara, difference of use between day and night, the relation between written-signs and space etc... one group made a film showing the key aspects of the district creating an archive for the later stages in Berlin.
